AND

HERBAL DISPENSARY

The medical herbalist focuses on the patient and the cause of their illness rather than the symptoms that they have.

It is by addressing the root cause(s) that the symptoms disappear.

About herbal medicine treatment...

Throughout the treatment, the medical herbalist of The Meadow guides her patients towards optimum well-being, by choosing specific herbal medicine individually tailored, as well as providing advice on diet, supplements and lifestyle. The aim is to change the patterns leading to the disease process and address the root cause of the problem. High quality plant extracts are selected specifically for you and prepared according to the treatment needed.

Consultations

A free pre-consultation telephone conversation allows for an initial discussion about your health issue and how herbal medicine can help.

The first private consultation is an opportunity to thoroughly discuss your health problem(s), as well as your past medical history, family history, current medication(s), and review the function of all the systems of the body. If relevant, and with your consent, a physical examination may be carried out and your blood pressure taken. It will take up to an hour and a half.

Follow-up consultations (scheduled as necessary) are useful in order to assess the actions of the plants, the changes that occurred and eventually re-focus the treatment on the current situation, evolving with the patient's need as healing takes place and progresses.

Professional Fees

Free pre-consultation telephone conversation

First private consultation £60

Follow-up consultation £40

Children half price.

Repeat prescription fee £6

The cost of the medicine varies depending on the type of medicine (cream, balm, tea, tincture, capsules etc...). For an adult, it would typically be between £7 to £12 per week, less for children.

Length of treatment

The length of treatment depends on the complexity of the health issue and the inner ability of the body to use the plant constituents. It also depends on whether the issue is of recent onset or is of a chronic nature. It can vary from a few weeks to several months.
Often, patients realise that several secondary issues have been addressed on the way while a main complaint was being treated, and a general sense of well-being is achieved for the long term.

Dispensary

After the first consultation, a medicinal plant remedy is created for you, by choosing specific medicinal plants. Herbal medicine is dispensed in a variety of ways such as tinctures, glycerites, infusions, decoctions, capsules, tablets, salves etc...

The follow-up consultation is useful in order to adjust the treatment according to the first improvements, and adapt the prescription to the progress made. A slightly different herbal remedy might be created.

Additionally, once you are registered with The Meadow Herbal Medicine, a renewal of the prescription is possible without a consultation, in order to carry on the treatment a little longer.
